SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS DURING THE FAMILY BIBLE CAMP

Dear Members in Christ,

Showers of blessings during the Family Bible Camp

The words of the song of Moses are an apt reminder that the Word of God is precious doctrine for His people. In the past month, we have had our time at the Family Bible Camp in Penang. It was a time of blessing, a week of uninterrupted exhortations, sermons and discussions drawn from selected passages from the Word of God. The teaching of God’s Word is liken to dew, or showers to refresh the land, at the same time ascribing praise and glory to God. Thus we read,

“My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.” Deuteronomy 32:2,3

Attached are testimonies from brothers and sisters who would like to share the goodness and blessings which they have received from the time spent at the Family Bible Camp.

Testimony of Camp blessings by Dn. Chan Ming-Yau (Camp Master 2025)

“And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.” Mark 6:31-32

“And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: …”

Thank God for a fruitful time of spiritual and physical feasting at the recent Family Bible Camp in Penang. 117 campers from across Malaysia, Singapore, Australia–fellowshipping around God’s Word and God’s people, taking time from our daily busyness to rest a while. With the theme God Moulds His Servants (Genesis 32-38), we are encouraged by how our God who is everlasting, covenant keeping and of immeasurable grace and mercy; protects, promotes and preserves His children in the joys, sorrows and even disasters during our life on earth.

“… for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure, so much as to eat. …”

Thank God for the privilege to be your camp master and many thanks to the camp committee brethren for all their labour for the Lord – from registration and rooming, to Bible study and prayer, to group discussions and activities. It is wonderful to set aside time to study God’s Word, so it is strange, to hear there are brethren who are too busy to come for camp. Let us all reflect upon God’s Word, that it is in such times of many coming and going, that it is in such times where one may have no opportunity so much as to eat, that we should take time off from today’s 24/7 always connected world to rest and recharge through God’s Word.

“… And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.”

Just as Jesus’s disciples followed Christ’s call and they departed into a desert place by ship privately, pray many will be moved to join the camp and camp committee God willing next year. God be with you till we meet again and see you at Calvary Jaya Family Bible Camp 1 Jun 2026.” www.calvaryjaya.org/camp

Testimony of blessings by Sister Hong Min

“I was very excited when I heard that the Family Bible Camp this year would be held in my hometown, Penang. What I did not expect was that I would be down with food poisoning. However, I thank God that although I could not enjoy the physical food during the camp, I was still able to partake of the spiritual food. Thank God for His grace in sustaining and healing me. I understand that God is molding me through all circumstances of life, including this event.

Thank God for the lessons, discussions, fellowship, care and concern of the brethren. Pray that I will rejoice in the Lord always, believing that I can do all things through Christ, and striving to serve the Lord with gladness. I would like to encourage everyone to join the camp next year, if the Lord tarries, for it is indeed a blessing!”

Dearly Beloved, thank God for the above testimonies, glorifying God, and edifying the people of God. May many more be encouraged to join us at next year’s camp, and may God bless us with showers of blessings. Amen.

In His Service,
Rev. Lim Seh Beng, Pastor
