SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS DURING FAMILY BIBLE CAMP (DEUTERONOMY 32:2,3)
Dear Members in Christ,
Showers of blessings during Family Bible Camp (Deuteronomy 32:2,3)
The Bible tells us that as Christians, we are spiritually alive. Those who are God’s children receive the blessing of indwelling of the Holy Spirit. At Family Bible Camp, we see the work of the Holy Spirit of God, moving the hearts of Christians coupled with the teaching and sowing of the seed of God’s Words in the hearts of the people. This was what the Apostle Paul described when he wrote to the Corinthians about the work of the Holy Spirit together with the teaching of God’s Word to them.
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:12,13
Attached are testimonies from brothers and sisters who would like to share the blessings received from joining the camp. These testimonies attest to the blessings they received from the time spent in hearing God’s Word and in fellowship with fellow Christians at the Family Bible Camp.
Testimony of Camp blessings by Sister Carmen
“I count myself as a very blessed senior for having made it to this year’s church camp. My son was unable to accompany me because of his son’s A-levels exam. I felt so blessed & grateful when Elder Raymond & sister Gim offered me a lift!
Over the years as a child of God, I’ve experienced the faithfulness of God in countless ways. At camp I could feel his continual presence & grace in preserving the safety & health of the campers.
The messages & exhortations were uplifting. I enjoyed participating in group discussions where we shared & learned from each other’s experiences.
It was a joy to see the young & old seeking the Lord with faith & joy.”
Testimony of Camp blessings by Brother Jerome
“This year’s Family Bible Camp theme is “God moulds His servants”. We explored how God moulded His servant Jacob throughout his life. A valuable lesson we can draw from his life is understanding the consequences of sin. In his earlier years, he was a cunning man who usurped both Esau’s birthright and blessings by trickery. Whilst his schemes appeared successful, Jacob later experienced the bitter harvest of his deceptive ways. Under Laban’s employ, he encountered the same cunning and manipulation of his own. Even more painfully, he witnessed the same traits manifest in his own sons, becoming a source of immense suffering in his later life.
Jacob’s life serves as a powerful warning for us today. We must examine the secret and habitual sins we may be harbouring in our hearts, and the gravity of these hidden transgressions should not be underestimated. Present circumstances may seem favourable, but this does not guarantee that the repercussions of our wrongdoing will not eventually come to pass. Through the grace and help of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to repent and turn away from these sins before God chastises us.
The week of Family Bible Camp has been a profound blessing for Christians. We gathered for spiritual nourishment and fellowship centred on God's Word. For believers who may have drifted from their spiritual walk or find themselves weak in the faith, this gathering realigns our hearts with God whilst deepening the bonds of love within the body of Christ. Therefore, brethren, make an appointment to join our next year’s camp to enjoy this blessing. Together, we will grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and be better witnesses for Him.”
Thank God for these above testimonies. We pray for discernment and blessings for everyone, and we hope to encourage Calvary Jaya members to join us at next year’s camp. May God bless us all.
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
