GRH 028 The Shades of Night Are Now Dispersed

(1)
Shades of darkness are now dispersed,
All in brightness now immersed;
We thank Thee, Lord, for Thy true grace,
For Thy sunlight ev’ry place.

(2)
Lord, Thy grace so wondrous, so bright
Givers my heart and soul Thy light,
Brings to my heart true light from Thee;
Thy warm sun reflects on me.

(3)
When from Thy face I see no glow,
Blindly in the dark I go.
All around me the sun’s strong ray,
Still I walk in sin’s black way.

(4)
Sin, like evil, darkly o’er clouds,
Makes me stray, my path enshrouds,
God’s own true light, as bright as day
Causes me to leave sin’s way.

(5)
Jesus Lord, the true light, our life,
Save from death and bitter strife;
Out of darkness into Thy light,
God’s Son over coming night.
