GRH 397 I Will Never Leave Thee

(1)
The Lord said, ‘I’ll never leave thee,
Even to the end of time;
When you come in prayer before me,
I will give you peace sublime.
Never fear, I will protect you
And you’ll know that you are mine;
I have said, I’ll never leave thee,
even to the end of time.
I have said, I’ll never leave thee,
even to the end of time.
Because I will never leave thee,
you are mine forevermore.’

(2)
Evil times may come upon you,
As a violent wind that blows;
Have no fear, I will protect you,
Give you comfort and repose.
Always know how much I love you,
And I’ll keep you from all foes,
I have said, I’ll never leave thee,
even to the end of time.
I have said, I’ll never leave thee,
even to the end of time.
Because I will never leave thee,
you are mine forevermore.’

(3)
When your body ends its journey,
And at last the end has come;
Then you’ll enter into heaven,
Into your eternal home.
Everlasting joy forever
Never more the earth to roam.
I have said, I’ll never leave thee,
even to the end of time.
I have said, I’ll never leave thee,
even to the end of time.
Because I will never leave thee,
you are mine forevermore.’
