GRH 476 Brothers, Rise, Proclaim the Word

(1)
Loud our brother’s call is heard:
Christians rise, proclaim the Word!
All the nations wait to know.
God will guide you, forward go!
Autumn fields with gold grain stand,
Harvest time is now at hand.
Labor hard to save the grain,
Bind it all for heaven’s gain.

(2)
East to ocean’s mighty tide,
West to lofty mountainside,
North across the desert sands,
South where lie the verdant lands,
Millions of the human race
Early hope for heaven’s grace.
Christians, dare you waste the hours?
Rise and serve with all your pow’rs!

(3)
Quickly spread the Christian word,
Till our brothers all have heard.
Love upon the cross commands,
Rid your soul of pride’s demands.
Change arms into useful good,
Cross the seas in brotherhood.
Let us see the human race
Cleansed by God’s supernal grace.
