GRH 551 In Thy Church

(1)
In Thy church, where the saints of yore have dwelt;
We do abide Lord, our home in ev’ry age the same.
By her faith time and space the church doth span.
One great event will soon close the age-long quest of man,
And Thy love will creation fully crown.
Praise the Lord, He is Lord of all the world.
He is Saviour of mankind, praise on earth and praise in heav’n.
Angel hosts and the saints in glory raise
To the Lord eternal praise, to the Lord eternal praise.

(2)
Ours the faith which our fathers once confessed;
And ours the hope which up-held them on their pilgrim way;
The same call, them and us doth bind as one;
And by its pow’r will the work Thou dost command be done;
And Thy life flow into the life of man.
Praise the Lord, He is Lord of all the world.
He is Saviour of mankind, praise on earth and praise in heav’n.
Angel hosts and the saints in glory raise
To the Lord eternal praise, to the Lord eternal praise.
