GRH 560 'Twas On That Dark Betrayal Night

(1)
The night my Saviour was betrayed
The bread with thanks took He,
To His disciples gave and said,
‘Do this remembering me.’

(2)
Then take and eat the broken bread
In this, my body see.
‘Twill broken be for you and all,
Do this remembering me.’

(3)
And then our Lord, the cup He gave;
Said, ‘Drink it, all of ye.
My blood is shed for you and all,
Do this remembering me.’

(4)
You thus proclaim the Saviour’s death
Who died to set you free;
As often as you drink this cup
You do remembering me.

(5)
Lord, your command we would obey,
For grace so freely giv’n.
Each day increase our faith and strength
To walk the road to heav’n.
