GRH 594 The Seasons Come and Go

(1)
After rainy spells spring days are clear and bright.
Flow’rs of ev’ry color vie with radiant white.
Breezes waft their fragrance like a soft caress.
Vibrant life is ev’rywhere; from whence comes this?
Thinking of my parents; Though my talent be
Great in poetry, Tears shed, brushes worn out,
Can’t describe their deeds for me.

(2)
Parents suffered hardships as they toiled for me;
Left a life of freedom chose to nurture me.
Filial love to parents brings us rich rewards,
For long life and joy are promised by the Lord.
Thinking of my parents; Though my talent be
Great in poetry, Tears shed, brushes worn out,
Can’t describe their deeds for me.

(3)
Showing true affection, seeking out their needs,
Off’ring dainty morsels these are loyal deeds.
All the Lord’s disciples filial love should show,
This was God’s command, observed by saints of yore.
Thinking of my parents; Though my talent be
Great in poetry, Tears shed, brushes worn out,
Can’t describe their deeds for me.

(4)
China’s honored sages put first filial love,
And the Bible’s heroes teach this to the world.
Since all Christian people God’s great love have known,
Can we fail our parents, sorry when they’re gone?
Thinking of my parents; Though my talent be
Great in poetry, Tears shed, brushes worn out,
Can’t describe their deeds for me.
